Background
HLK recently released the October '23 firmware for the LD2450 with improved static detection capabilities and a few bugs. For those who purchased the 2A earlier, it may be worthwhile to update them.
Difference from 2A firmware
- The 2A firmware refers to the firmware for the 2A and HA communication part, which is responsible for the WIFI function and for parsing the data from the radar module. It is provided by SCREEK.
- LD2450 firmware refers to the firmware of the radar core module, which determines the detection behavior capability. It is provided by HiLink.
How to update
First of all you need a HLK app:
- Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hlk.hlkradartool
- IOS APP Store: HLKRadarTool on the App Store (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/hlkradartool/id1638651152)
The rest of the work you just need to bring your smartphone close to the 2A sensor to find a LD2450 device, connect it in and you can check the firmware and update the firmware, etc. It's very convenient.
Also this tool allows you to visualize how the LD2450 is working, including target coordinates etc.
