Background
After the first test, we found time to intermittently run the rest of the tests.
The LD2461 looks very attractive no matter what the various features are, with more number of people to recognize, a better antenna, and more static capability, at least that's what is claimed. But since the initial testing began, we've noticed some pretty incomprehensible behaviors: most notably ghosting, where a non-existent shadow appears where it doesn't exist.
Discovered
Testing through multiple radars, in multiple different environments, we have found ghosting to be a common occurrence, unfortunately. We have not been able to get some more concrete answers and we have to think that, as in many radar products, behind the simple documentation and the usual explanatory text, the real performance is something else.
When considering the high price of the LD2461, and the lack of OTA updates (from the rough documentation, you can only use the UART method to connect the serial port to the upper memory to update, but at present the upper memory is not open to such a function, only a basic demo.)
We look forward to more exciting discoveries, but for now this black box (LD2461):
- Highly expensive
- No Bluetooth
- No configurable parameters (except for preset areas)
- Ghosting is very frequent
