Busy and tedious lives can kill a lot of passions, including those that are fleeting. We've always wanted to perfect the DS1 firmware, as promised, but things called hobbies always seem to slowly shrink into a corner when life spins up. The LD6001 is sexy in the sense that it's one of the very few current radars that can claim to support 8 people, of course the FP2 is so out there that it probably doesn't need an additional radar like this, but consider that the fp2 claims to be able to recognize up to 5 people. So why shouldn't the LD6001 be given a stage chance of its own?
This is what we want to venture into trying to do next, we procured some more LD6001 samples (they're still expensive, dammit!) , and we're trying to design a case for it like the 2A and refine the initial firmware. Its high cost is destined to make us do every move very carefully. But anyway, in preliminary tests we were pleasantly surprised by its 1-3 person performance, and we don't think that's any worse than the LD2450. anyway, it doesn't have bluetooth, and it doesn't have future OTA capabilities.
I think the F61 radar is one of those things that will get some people in a position to join together to test this insanely priced HLK radar!
Here's a little radar sensor revolution we tried, it's a 60G exaggerated parameter radar, let's rock it!
When I think about this whole thing, it's not so much how many were sold that was some kind of success (even if we sold 1000s of 2As, 1000s of 1Us, and a couple hundred of 1Ms and 1MSs, that's some kind of very tiny DIY sensor success, but that never compares to the fun of exploring it with everyone else), but rather, it's about making them go from an idea to an idea, to an idea, to an idea, to an idea, to an idea, to an idea, to an idea! , rather it's the fun of taking them from an idea to a sensor to share with the world, bringing a little bit of our creativity, and improving them with everyone else that is our incentive and spirit.
If F61 is more fortunate to have the opportunity to share, it will be a story of a DIY 60G radar. We'll be hoping to keep its final selling price as much as possible from being too inflated (but under $50, it might be really hard, so it'll still be a little higher.) ..
Let's revisit the 2A story: HLK had just released the LD2450, and the first version was buggy all over. but we took a chance and tested it for a couple of months, refining the initial firmware and working with the HLK folks to try to improve some of the issues. Then we shared our 2A and met a bunch of you super cool opportunities. At a later date, we worked together to refine features like the Zone. We had hundreds of replies to threads like HA. Open source enthusiasts got on board and more 3rd party libraries came out. the LD2450 became a little bit more popular in a sense, and that was a cool adventure. So building the F61 so that it could exist was a cool thing to do, I think.
Attached, here's a scene of little kids coming in to the studio, including holding them, and one of them walking around the room.
