Preliminary analysis
We've received a couple of 1W fault reports recently, and they all have the same main characteristics:
- Dynamic switching once per second in HA properties.
- In HLKRadarTools the energy value is shown to be 100%.
We have investigated all the LD2410B radars we have on hand, as well as reassembled some 1W sensors for testing. We reproduced the problem on a small recent LD2410B batch, and the whole radar performed very poorly, all with an energy value of 100.
The radar has very poor immunity to interference.
We did not test this issue on the earlier modules we found.
We are continuing to investigate what may have caused this, and we will be replacing the affected Feb '24 lot 1W with a 1U series sensor.
Until we get closer to figuring out what might be causing this, we will recommend that the display not pick up a 1W series radar, and please consider using a 1U or smaller 1M or 1MS instead.
1W(LD2410B) Radar Module Comparison Tests
After conducting additional testing, we determined that we found a batch of LD2410B radar modules that were behaving abnormally in the same environment.
We have now contacted the developers at HLK who have expressed great concern about the situation and we have arranged to send a sample radar over for analysis.
