We are exploring the development of an upgraded light sensor based on the LS1, they are also USB-C powered, but with a small difference, based on the VEML7700 point light sensor, which increases the resolution of the BH1750 from 1LX to 0.0036lx, and the maximum value from 65K to 120LX now. Probably the most basic change is that it performs better in the dark.
This may not be a sensor for everyone, but I think it's naturally interesting to explore, and there's an opportunity to perhaps repurpose the results of its exploration in the future for our other sensors, such as the Series 1 radar, the 2A radar, and other products.
For me, being able to detect a 0.0036lx change in light looks really interesting, and being powered by USB-C allows for seamless moment-to-moment monitoring without having to worry about batteries.
