In almost black, the VEML7700 uses a longer integration time to calculate the light and get a high resolution, and it is interesting to see the results we get after expanding the decimal places all the way, they have subtle variations. Relatively speaking, the BH1750 is a bit sluggish (but less integration operations and a bit faster). Overall, the VEML7700 has an extra set of IR lines, as well as what appears to be a broader overall display of light.
