We tested the Xiaomi Thermo-Hygrometer 2 (LYWSD03MMC) with ZigbeeTLC firmware for up to two months, and overall, it can work well if you don't set the reading time too often (e.g., less than 10 seconds) and go with a more reliable battery.
We've added a reset button to the temperature and humidity, added a base, and replaced the more reliable NANO batteries. Since the most recent batch of Thermo-Hygrometers 2 uses new firmware that patches the old BLE OTA vulnerability, making it necessary to use a programmer to burn in, this makes it more difficult to DIY.
Some other notes:
- The overall operating current averages around 25ua (at intervals of around 10s), measured using the PPK2.
- When you need to reset the Zigbee network, long press the reset button on the back for 7 seconds.
