We consulted with the supplier of the probe today and got some basic information like this:
- There is no restriction on liquid volume, fish tanks are acceptable.
- Minimum depth is 20cm.
- Minimum operating voltage is at 9v, 12v is acceptable and higher voltage options are available.
- The probe has to be plunged to the bottom, suspended.
- The probes will sometimes need maintenance, cleaning the small holes in the head if they are clogged.
- The different range specifications appear to be predetermined parameters adjusted to correspond to their controllers, so maybe the default 5m is acceptable for us.
